Meet the Secretariat

Bill Michalis
Secretary General

Hello, my name is Bill Michalis. It is a pleasure and an honor to serve as the Secretary-General of the 14th CGSMUN. I am currently an IB1 student at CGS. MUN has been one of the most valuable investments of time and effort I have made in my life because it has re-shaped my character and has brought out the better version of myself. It has also motivated me and pushed me outside of my comfort zone, into pursuing ambitious projects and goals. Overall, it is an activity which has enriched my character, enhanced my abilities and introduced me to a diverse and exciting group of people. I am looking forward to this year’s CGSMUN.

Hara Chouliara
Deputy Secretary General

My name is Hara Chouliara, I am an IB1 student at Costeas-Geitonas School and will serve in the position of the Deputy Secretary General in the 14th CGSMUN Conference. Despite wanting to study engineering, MUN has been a passion of mine over the past three years, enriching me with memorable experiences and shaping me into the person I am today. Every MUN conference has been exciting and inspiring and so, it is my utmost honor to be part of the Secretariat for this year’s session of CGSMUN.

Dimitris Grigoriou
Deputy Secretary General

My name is Dimitris Grigoriou and I am an 11th grader at the German School of Athens. I signed up for MUN five years ago and I have attended fourteen conferences so far. MUN has enabled me to broaden my horizons through dealing with immense issues that the world is facing. It has given me the opportunity to develop key personal skills such as public speaking, formal writing, but above all critical thinking. I feel more than honored for being given the opportunity to serve as the Deputy Secretary General of the CGSMUN Conference and I am looking forward to meeting you all in December.

Claire Oberle
Deputy Secretary General

My name is Claire Oberle and it is my utmost honor to serve as the Deputy Secretary General of this year’s CGSMUN Conference. My MUN journey started 5 years ago at Shanghai American School, Pudong and continued when I moved to the American School of The Hague last fall. MUN has taught me so much about global politics, responsibility, collaboration, and leadership while providing me with valuable experiences and friendships. I am beyond excited for this year’s CGSMUN and look forward to meeting you all!

Maria Despoina Patouna
President of the General Assembly

My name is Maria Patouna, I am currently an IB1 student in Costeas-Geitonas School and it is my utmost honour to address you as the President of the General Assembly in the 14th CGS MUN. I got involved with Model UN 4 years ago, when I became a member of my school's club: fascinated by the complexity of the arena of politics and the art of diplomacy, it instantly became my passion. Since then, I have participated in 14 conferences, both domestically and abroad, each one offering me a unique, life-changing experience. MUN has undeniably shown me an open-minded way of thinking and contributed in the formation of my concept of the modern world. My wish for this year’s conference is that it is a most creative, rewarding and memorable experience for all the participants. I can’t wait to welcome you all in December!
