The Costeas-Geitonas School Model United Nations (CGS MUN) has successfully reached its 19th session, and the CGS MUN Organising Committee is more than delighted to invite you to our upcoming conference on “Ethos vs Progress: Reassessing our Values in a Fragile World” which will take place on the CGS school premises on December 6th -8th, 2024.
Building on significant structural changes, the vision of a modern UN system, revitalised by a forward-thinking mindset, and equipped by cutting-edge skills fit for the 21st century seems mandatory. Our dynamic “quintet of change” – a potential amalgam of data, innovation, digital, foresight, and behavioural science expertise – is helping us work towards this goal. But at what cost to the climate, the environment, human health and relations? While economic growth used to be an indicator of the quality of life, it has now become challenging to make that claim. This clearly indicates that we must rethink and reassess the values that are currently guiding the actions and policies of the international community as a whole.
