The Costeas-Geitonas School Model United Nations (CGS MUN) has successfully reached its 20th session, and the CGS MUN Organising Committee is more than delighted to invite you to our upcoming conference on
“Knowledge and Understanding: Challenging what -we think-we know”
which will take place on the CGS school premises on December 12th -14th, 2025.
The rapid advancements in technology, communication, and globalization have led to an era where knowledge is abundant yet elusive, accessible yet often questioned. Our theme calls attention to the dynamic interplay between access and knowledge, urging us to examine how barriers to education, literacy, and equitable information distribution shape societies worldwide. In a world driven by data and discoveries, who decides what knowledge is preserved, amplified, or suppressed? Who benefits from breakthroughs in science and innovation, and who is left behind?
This year’s discussions will delve into the role of journalism in combating misinformation, explore the responsibility of corporate entities in balancing transparency with security, and question the ethical implications of concealing or disseminating pivotal knowledge. Delegates will grapple with issues surrounding intellectual property, the power dynamics of information, and the fundamental right to know. From the integrity of academic institutions to the pursuit of literacy in underserved communities, the conversation is both diverse and urgent.
We invite you to challenge assumptions, seek perspectives beyond the conventional, and engage in dialogue that bridges gaps in understanding. This session is not just about debating solutions; it is about uncovering the deeper layers of truth, accountability, and global responsibility that shape the world we share.
As we gather to redefine what we think we know, let us embrace this opportunity to cultivate a more informed, empathetic, and interconnected global society. Welcome, and let the conversations begin!
